Square One is committed to furthering advancements in technological industry by supporting various developmental endeavors, including several projects which are ongoing at universities.

This includes continuing sponsorship of the University of West Florida's and the University of Rhode Island's entries in the annual Underwater Competition organized by AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International). The competition is for autonomous underwater vehicles, and is intended to foster the general advancement and promotion of unmanned systems and related technologies.
